The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) in Cambodia is urging the general public to be wary of unlicensed real estate operators and to only use licensed real estate companies.
Unlicensed real estate operators are being urged to legalise their operations. The MEF has licensed 43 real estate valuation and estate service agents this year according to The Phonm Penh Post.
The director general of the MEF’s financial industry department Mey Vann thinks it can only be a good thing naming newly licensed operators.
“We announced the names of companies to promote them, because they are operating legally. We want to inform consumers looking for valuation services and estate agent companies, so that they contact these licensed companies,” he said.
