Malaysia’s real estate market compares favourably to other areas in Asia, which means buying property is a wise long-term investment claims Nixon Paul, president of the Malaysia Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA).
Mr Paul highlighted the condominium market in Malaysia as a good investment over the next 10 years.
“We are one of the cheapest in the region and if you are looking to invest over the long term, say ten years, now is a good time to get into the condominium market. Over the next decade, prices will appreciate,” he said.
Investors looking to rely on rental income may find it difficult to cover the cost of a loan due to the current oversupply of condominiums in the property sector according to Property Showrooms.
MIEA will hold its annual real estate convention at the beginning of March with the theme: Property Investment, the Way Forward.
